It has a single bevel construction like traditional Japanese kitchen knives, meaning it can get extremely sharp, but needs to be sharpened differently than double bevel knives. The blade can be used in other applicationsĀ than woodworking, but care must be taken to not damage the very sharp but brittle edge.
